Payroll Giving is a way to make regular donations to Al-Mizan Charitable Trust directly from your pay. People who receive their company or personal pension through PAYE (Pay As You Earn) can participate too. Your donation is made before tax is deducted, so you are given tax relief on your donation immediately at your highest rate of tax.
For example, if you were to give a monthly donation of £10 through Payroll Giving, it would cost you £8 if you paid tax at the basic rate of 20%; £6 if you paid at the higher rate of 40%; and £5 if you paid tax at the highest rate of 50%.
Employers simply need to sign up with an HMRC approved Payroll Giving Agency that will distribute donations to Al-Mizan Charitable Trust. Donors are then asked to complete a mandate, stating how much they wish to give and give Al-Mizan Charitable Trust's details, and the employer arranges for the donation to come off their salary as a pre-tax deduction. Employers then send the deductions in one sum each month alongside a list of donors and new donor mandate forms to their Payroll Giving Agency.
