260 Food Parcels Delivered

In response to Al-Mizan Charitable Trust's Ramadan Appeal, we have delivered 260 food parcels for vulnerable individuals and families living in poverty. Each food parcel contained daily essential such as rice, pasta, tinned fruit and vegetables, milk, tea, sugar and biscuits, worth £40. Food parcels were distributed on Sunday 5 August and Monday 6 August in partnership with charities and mosques working with needy people, some of whom are previous beneficiaries of Al-Mizan Charitable Trust's General Welfare Fund.

We are grateful to the Beta Charitable Trust for starting our appeal with a donation of £3,000 alongside other donors who raised the remaining £7,000 for the project. We are also thankful to the 100+ volunteers who helped with ordering and collecting food supplies, and packing the food parcels.

Each recipient family are required to complete a Monitoring Form - the date which will be collated in September 2012, will be published later this year. We look forward to working with additional partners across the UK next Ramadan, and increasing the number of food parcels we can offer needy families.

Needy families need support throughout the year, not just in Ramadan. Please do consider making a regular donation of just £10/month here so Al-Mizan Charitable Trust can continue to offer support and assistance to those in our communities who are desperate to rebuild their lives.
