Al-Mizan Charitable Trust is a Muslim grant-funder which supports disadvantaged people and deprived communities across the UK, regardless of their faith or cultural background.

Kelly was three months pregnant when her ex-partner became very violent towards her and she ended up in hospital. He was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison. Upon release, he found out where she lived and smashed up her house. He was arrested again and sent back to prison.

When she applied to us, Kelly had been trying to build a life for her and three-year-old son. She has started a social work qualification at college and hopes to go to university. Unfortunately, she was struggling with her college work, as she did not have a laptop and had to handwrite all of her assignments. She could not use the library after college, as she had to pick up her son from nursery.

The Trust provided a grant of £300 towards a laptop for Kelly.
