Dr Robina Shah
Robina Shah is an academic writer and has been in NHS public service for 15 years. She was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Greater Manchester Ambulance Trust in 1993 and subsequently, and Chair of a merged Stockport NHS Trust in April 2000. Robina was the first and youngest Asian woman to be appointed as Chair of an NHS Trust. A psychologist and academic researcher by profession, Robina has been actively involved in health and social care, particularly learning disabilities, at a regional and national level.
Robina was awarded the MBE for her work with disabled children in 2003. She was appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant for Greater Manchester in 2006. She is a Magistrate at Manchester Inner City Bench and a Non-Executive Director of the University of Manchester.
