
Mohammed Sadiq Mamdani

Mohammed is a serial social entrepreneur, who began his career in the voluntary sector at the age of 18 years, as founder of the award winning national charity, Muslim Youth Helpline (www.myh.org.uk). MYH provides faith sensitive and confidential emotional support by telephone, email, web-chat and letter to over 5,000 young Muslims every year. Following the success of MYH's core service, Mohammed launched the the first online forum for British Muslim youth (www.muslimyouth.net) in 2004, which challenges cultural stigma around social issues and promotes civic engagement amongst young people.
From 2005-2007 Mohammed was appointed to the Board of Trustees of UnLtd, the Foundation of Social Entrepreneurs (www.unltd.org.uk), which holds an endowment of £100 million from the Millennium Trust. In 2005, he also setup Ansar Youth Project (www.ansaryouth.org.uk), a community based model in faith and culturally sensitive youth-work, where he worked until 2009. Thereafter he worked as Capacity Building Manager and Head of Youth Services at Queen's Crescent Community Association (www.qcca.org.uk).
Mohammed is a graduate in Arabic and Islamic Studies from St. John's College, Oxford.

Abbas Dhalla

Abbas is an experienced Management Accountant and has previously worked for the pharmaceutical company, GlaxoSmithKline, and Lewisham Primary Care Trust.
He is a graduate in Business & Computing Systems from City University and currently works as Cost Accountant for the Royal Marsden NHS Hospital Trust.

Ali Khimji
Project Manager
Ali is an ambitious writer and online blogger with a keen interest in pioneering and innovative approaches to social problems.
Apart from short stints at Royal Mail and Accenture, he worked for several years as the Operations Manager of Ansar Youth Project, in charge of all aspects of service delivery and infrastructure development. Between 2008 and 2010, he served as a delegate member of the Young Muslims Advisory Group (YMAG), with responsibility for the development of its website and editing its flagship e-zine. In recognition of his commitment to various charitable enterprises, he received the Leicester Award for Leadership and Management in 2009.
He serves on the Youth Advisory Panel of MyBnk and the Young Foundation Investment Committee. He is also interested in Islamic Finance and the use of social networking sites and new media in grassroots campaigns.
Ali is a graduate in Economics from the University of Leicester. He currently works as a journalist for EMEL, the Muslim Lifestyle Magazine.
