Eid Mubarak - Thank You

On behalf of Al-Mizan Charitable Trust I would like to wish you Eid Mubarak and thank you for your support during this month of Ramadan. We have approved 11 grants this month, with further applications undergoing assessment. Some of the cases we have funded are listed below:

A bed and supported mattress for an elderly woman who has undergone several operations on her back, but lives in an empty, unfurnished flat sleeping on a broken settee.

A cooker for a woman fleeing domestic violence who has set up home with her 11 year old son in a new property provided by the council.

A contribution to a gas installation course for an ex-offender who is due to leave prison in September 2011.

Emergency food costs for 3 weeks for a girl who lives in a hostel, who will not receive her first pay cheque in time, but whose benefits have been cut after successfully finding employment.

Support for a single mother who is HIV positive and who has two children.

Literacy software for an orphan child who has a learning disability.

For all of you who have contributed to our Ramadan appeal, may you be blessed for your kindness and compassion, and may Allah accept your prayers.

Al-Mizan provides support for people in the UK who are living in poverty. Our grants and loans are often very small - but they make a huge difference for someone without the basic necessities to make a dignified life possible.

As we part with the blessed month of Ramadan, please help us to keep our support available all year round by making a small, regular donation of just £5/month by clicking here.

You can also keep up to date with all our appeals and recent activities by visiting our Facebook and Twitter pages. We will continue to post regular updates about the Trust's work and information on our latest grants via these media.

As the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, "The best of actions is that which is small and regular".

Wishing you, our generous donors, and our beneficiaries, a joyous day of Eid.
