Al-Mizan Charitable Trust supports families across the UK, who are facing difficult financial circumstances.

Although Britain is seen as a wealthy country, more than one in five people live below the official poverty line and struggle with the rising costs of living. The welfare state also does not provide access to skills and opportunities to help people better their circumstances or equip people with sufficient savings to deal with a life crisis or change in circumstances.

We were set up in 2010 to provide small grants to people facing difficult financial circumstances. We have also been involved in the distribution of Food Parcels, Winter Warmer Packs, Mother & Baby Kits, and Back to School Backpacks in partnership with grassroots organisations.

With the help of our generous donors, we have been able to provide over 1,200 families with grants and have disbursed over £265,000. We have also distributed 1,800 Food Parcels, 1,300 Winter Warmer Packs, 400 Mother & Baby Kits, and 400 Back to School Backpacks.

We are a member of the Association of Charitable Organisations and adhere to all recognised models of good practice and quality standard, which is essential to ensure accountability when disbursing small grants.

Central to our ethos is that no direct, voluntary donation from an individual towards our grants is used to cover administrative costs or overheads.
